Energy Performance Certificate

EPC is short for Energy Performance Certificate, every residential and commercial property that is up for sale and for let in the UK is legally required to have one. The EPC shows the energy efficiency levels and carbon dioxide releases of a building.

The EPC entails the energy efficiency levels with the rating of A-F; A being the most efficient, F being the least. The better the rating, the more energy-efficient the building is and the lower the fuel bills are likely to be. Currently, the average rating for a home is D.

A qualified Energy Assessor from Eazy O Living will visit the property to carry out the energy assessment survey. They will need access to all rooms in order to examine the critical items in the property such as domestic boiler, radiators, loft insulation, hot water tank, windows etc. Once the survey is finished, the data will be uploaded into a software program that calculates the level of energy efficiency.

The certificate is valid for 10 year and found on the government website.
